Microsoft Defender Security Specialist

As a member of our Cloud Team, you will be focusing on utilizing Microsoft Defender Product Suite, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Device Management Solutions to improve CorVel security. Your primary responsibility will be conducting cloud security analysis and investigation using Microsoft Defender Products, including Microsoft's cloud solutions such as Intune, Hybrid Identity Management, and Microsoft 365 Defender.
This is a remote role that requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects. You will be responsible for assisting with implementing Microsoft Defender recommendations, focusing on risk mitigation, and providing technical support for M365/EMS services and resolving service-related issues through research and troubleshooting and working with Microsoft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with implementing Microsoft Defender recommendations, focusing on risk mitigation.
- Assisting with configuration and delivery of security and compliance reports.
- Providing technical support for M365/EMS services and resolving service-related issues through research and troubleshooting and working with Microsoft.
- Documenting platform technical issues, analysis, client communication, and resolution.
- Work domain services and MDE tickets from ITSM System.
- Supporting proof of concept and production deployments of cloud technologies.
Requirements:
- Experience in communicating, planning, and implementing Microsoft Defender recommendations.
- Experience with device and user configuration using Hybrid Identity Management and Intune.
- Able to write custom scripts in PowerShell, KQL and/or SQL.
- Research solutions related to security and compliance to identify and propose technical solutions to management staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills as well as technical/non-technical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Entra ID and Privileged Access Management
- Advanced Scripting in KQL, PowerShell
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Pay Range:
CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $67,086 – $111,634
