Position Overview:


Ash Battery Systems is a fully employee-owned organization with a remarkable trajectory of growth. As an Electrical Apprentice Technician, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical systems and components, particularly within the Telecommunications, Wireless, Utility, and UPS sectors.


Reporting Structure: The Electrical Apprentice Technician will report directly to the Service Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow guidance from experienced Journeyman Electricians.
  • Execute skilled electrical tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
  • Assist in the installation of transformers, control panels, electronic circuits, coils, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, fuses, and related electrical apparatus.
  • Support the installation of backup generator systems.
  • Identify necessary modifications when faced with obstructions during electrical system installations.
  • Interpret electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics.
  • Establish effective communication with the Electrical Manager/Master Electrician and collaborate with all departments utilizing electrical services.
  • Work proficiently from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Utilize standard electrician's tools and measuring/testing instruments, such as multi-meters, effectively.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as required.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of AC and DC circuits.
  • Familiarity with electrical principles, applications, techniques, procedures, codes, and equipment.
  • Awareness of local and national electrical codes.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Consistent attendance record.
  • Demonstrates proper handling of material handling equipment.
  • Proactively keeps current with safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT regulations.
  • Adheres to company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety Policy.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 75% travel may be necessary based on customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Electrical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to work at various heights.
  • Capability to lift items exceeding 25 lbs (up to 150 lbs.) regularly.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete a physical exam, background check, and pre-employment drug screening.
