Job Summary:

Harrison School District Two seeks a skilled Healthcare Professional to provide medical care and support to students and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in first aid, medical procedures, and health record management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer first aid and medical care to injured or ill students and staff.
Maintain health records, health action plans, and billing for Medicaid reimbursable procedures.
Coordinate collection of Medicaid billing permission forms and maintain clinic log.
Administer medications and other medical treatments required by students in accordance with physician orders and district and state policy.
Notify parents of student illness or injury and complete appropriate reports.
Serve as worker's compensation representative to assess and assist injured personnel with treatment options.
Provide students and parents with information for treatment or referrals to doctors by serving as a resource to outside agencies and programs.
Organize, schedule, and implement health screening programs, including vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis, and SPED screenings.
Record, track results, and make recommendations for follow-up care for students who did not pass initial testing.
Notify building administrators, teachers, transportation, and kitchen staff of students with significant health concerns.
Attend staffing/child study meetings as needed and research regarding medications and conditions.
Notify counselors of suspected abuse or neglect and order and maintain adequate inventory of health supplies and equipment.
Perform crossing guard duties and lunchroom monitor duties as assigned by school administration.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Training, and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Training as an Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, or Certified Nursing Assistant is desired.
Basic knowledge of computers is required, and ability to work with children and children with special needs is essential.
Valid CPR and First Aid certification is required.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Criminal background check and fingerprinting are required.
