Job Title: Quality Assurance Process Control Technician

Join Trotter Workforce in Harleysville, PA, as we seek a skilled Quality Assurance Process Control Technician to support our QA Department, production, shipping, and receiving teams.

Job Summary:

As a Quality Assurance Process Control Technician, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring procedures and processes to ensure product quality is produced, packaged, and shipped to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Receiving Utility Workers to verify weights, units of measure, and quality/appearance of incoming ingredients and document issues.
  • Conduct checks on food products, sizes, and weights by measuring and counting.
  • Verify accurate data input in production rooms.
  • Conduct checks on finished goods to ensure expiration dates match case labels.
  • Review outgoing shipments for accurate counts and expiration dates.
  • Assist in creating and updating company SOPs and enforce their adherence.
  • Train or retrain employees on proper procedures as needed.
  • Perform regular product testing when required.
  • Assist in implementing and documenting corrective actions for deviations from written plans.
  • Write corrective actions when needed and perform follow-ups.
  • Participate in and conduct internal audits.
  • Keep document and record registers up to date.
  • Assist in organizing SQF information with the creation of manuals, registers, and schedules.
  • Attend operational meetings when necessary.
  • Communicate plant practices that need improvement to the QA Manager.
  • Document incidents for non-conforming ingredients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science or Biology (preferred).
  • USDA/HACCP/SQF experience.
  • Food Safety knowledge.
  • GMP knowledge.
  • Labeling experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and a refrigerated environment (34-38 degrees).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word/Excel.
