About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Carrier. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions
  • Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment and calibrate thermostatic controls
  • Install new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and repair or replace damaged or worn parts and equipment
  • Inspect and service refrigeration equipment, including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
  • Maintain chilled and hot water supply systems
  • Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods of time
  • Valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
  • Part of or willing to join the Union
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with chillers and large building HVAC conditioning equipment
  • Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair
  • Hazard and safety practices common to the trade
  • HVAC controls and safety devices
  • Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
