Position Title: Chief Executive Officer of ACC Foundation & Chief Development Officer
Position Overview: Under the strategic guidance of the College President and the Foundation Board, the Chief Executive Officer of the ACC Foundation and Development will oversee the daily functions of the ACC Foundation, drive the establishment and execution of objectives set forth by the ACC Foundation Board and the College President, and engage with faculty and staff regarding Foundation initiatives through various channels. The role will also involve planning and executing diverse fundraising initiatives aimed at enhancing the Foundation's growth across all sectors.
Reports To: College President and Foundation Board of Trustees
Position Status: Full-time, Exempt, 12 months per year
Classification/Points: Administrative, Level C
Position Responsibilities:

- Act as the Chief Executive Officer of the ACC Foundation, providing leadership and fostering the development of the ACC Foundation Board of Trustees along with various ad hoc committees.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate fundraising activities for the College, including all student groups, faculty, and staff fundraising efforts.
- Build and maintain dynamic, trusting relationships with volunteers, donors, prospective donors, foundations, businesses/corporations, students, faculty, staff, retirees, and alumni.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward all major and planned gift donors to the Foundation, aligning College needs with donor interests, and ensuring the retention of existing donors.
- Ensure that contributions are managed in accordance with the donor's intent and adhere to investment policies, scholarship criteria, and Foundation bylaws.
- Recruit and mentor volunteers to raise funds on behalf of the Foundation and the College.
- Facilitate capital campaigns for the Foundation and the College as directed.
- Develop and implement additional fundraising campaigns, special events, planned giving, and related activities.
- Maintain a fundraising database while ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensure timely processing of donations and accurate acknowledgment of donor contributions, concerns, and requests.
- Oversee and manage the Foundation scholarship process and budget, including the establishment of new funds and the internal process of promoting, granting, and communicating with students and donors regarding awards.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage the Foundation and Development operating and program budgets.
- Prepare agenda materials and reports for quarterly Foundation Board meetings and keep the Board informed of related activities and programs throughout the year.
- Oversee and coordinate all alumni initiatives, including database development, bi-annual newsletter publication and distribution, Alumni Wall program, and Distinguished Graduate Award process.
- Develop additional programs and activities to support the Foundation as determined by the needs of the College and the goals and objectives of the Foundation Board.
- Report weekly to the College President, and as required to the College Board, regarding Foundation activities.
- Attend various Foundation and College functions and trainings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise the Foundation Secretary and Director of Alumni Relations
Expected Hours of Work: The normal workday for full-time employees shall be seven and one-half (7 1⁄2) consecutive hours per day. The normal workweek shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1⁄2) hours per week, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Effort: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; and have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Requirements
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience required.
- Financial acumen required.
- Demonstrated organizational and management skills required.
- Ability to successfully conduct fundraising campaigns, facilitate events, and operate programs required.
- Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills required.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- Knowledge of fund development software preferred.
- Knowledge of acceptable fundraising and development standards and operations required.
- Knowledge of IRS 501(c)(3) requirements.
- Knowledge of regional community preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in marketing and promotion activities.
- Demonstrated experience with giving oral and written presentations.
