Dietitian Specialist

The San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation seeks a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for inpatients and outpatients. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing personalized nutrition care plans, and providing education and counseling to promote optimal health outcomes.

• Provide MNT for adults and family members referred by physicians for outpatient services
• Assess patient needs, develop and implement nutrition care plans, and provide individualized guidance on food selection and meal preparation
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to develop and update patient care plans
• Modify patient computer profiles to reflect nutritional needs, food intolerances, and preferences
• Perform regular food service department quality assurance checks
• Provide nutrition-related presentations and information to the community
• Develop and deliver in-service education programs for food service personnel
• Prepare reports and documents to maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies

• Two years of recent experience planning regular and modified diets in a public institution
• Two years of clinical nutrition work experience with a focus on providing MNT for chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease
• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university
• Completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
• Current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification preferred
