As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a critical role in improving quality outcomes in infection prevention by supporting the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) sub-aim measures across multiple provider settings.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and implement effective interventions to improve infection prevention and control measures.
- Collaborate with clinical subject matter experts and program managers to identify efficiencies in work and improve quality outcomes.
- Assess and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in infection prevention and control measures and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance on infection prevention and control topics, including CAUTI, CLABSI, CDI, MRSA, and SSI.
- Bachelor's degree in public health, nursing, or a related healthcare field.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC or equivalent).
- Five years of experience in an acute or long-term care healthcare setting with understanding of the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
- Three or more years of experience in project management, project planning, and/or coordination of daily activities, data analysis, constructive reporting, quality management techniques, and tools.
- Master's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in improving HAI rates.
