Safety Specialist

Staff Finders Technical is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing interpretation, analysis, and support of programs related to health and safety management systems.
This role requires a strong background in safety and health, with experience in developing and providing safety training. You will be responsible for conducting incident investigations, ergonomic reviews, and assisting in determining effective corrective action.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment, with a strong safety background. They will also have strong skills in MS Office suite and be proficient in developing and providing safety training.
Responsibilities include:
- Participating in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes to reduce workplace hazards.
- Conducting incident investigations and ergonomic reviews, and assisting in determining effective corrective action.
- Compiling and analyzing necessary data, documentation, and correspondence to comply with safety regulations and health and safety management system requirements.
- Developing recommendations for health and safety processes/programs to meet the company's health and safety standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Managing and reviewing safety recordkeeping per OSHA guidelines and internal processes and procedures.
- Coordinating safety audits and risk assessments to identify noncompliance with company standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Managing corrective action and preventative action processes.
- Reviewing new processes, equipment, and assets for potential hazards and compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Making recommendations, if necessary, prior to introduction.
- Responding to questions and requests for information relevant to safety and health issues from acquired knowledge and experience.
- Developing, directing, and conducting safety presentations and training.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment with a strong safety background.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and providing safety training.
- Safety degree and/or very strong manufacturing safety experience.
- Strong skills in MS Office suite.
- CSP accreditation preferred.
