We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our operations.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will deliver customer service for Regional Fleet Management and facilities upkeep. Assist with the administration of fleet operations for the Region. Oversee the Regional Fleet Programs for vehicle registrations, operational and organizational maintenance, and emergency safety equipment. Responsible for managing gasoline and minor maintenance cards, enforcing authorized use of vehicles, handling vehicle sales, accidents, recovery, claims, and formulating and adhering to fleet budgets. Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Under limited supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will conduct repairs and maintenance within the Biomedical facility. This role typically involves work in various maintenance trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, machinery and equipment repair, and electrical work. Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to identify necessary repair and maintenance work to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Utilize hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment. Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Key Duties Include:
- Maintain and repair organizational facilities and properties through routine tasks and responsibilities. Address minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural issues. Paint structures and equipment as necessary. Document installations and repairs as required by regulatory agencies.
- Repair appliances and equipment. Operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps, and related mechanical equipment. Estimate time and material costs for various projects. Requisition new supplies and equipment.
- Review maintenance records to identify recurring deficiencies; plan and implement corrective maintenance or repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair all building HVAC-related equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. A trade license may be necessary.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Related experience should include skills and knowledge in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
- Skills & Abilities: Previous experience driving trucks and/or buses is desirable. Basic computer skills may be required. Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Skills and knowledge in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work are required. On-call duties will be part of the role. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Travel: May require driving to other locations. A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.
Physical Requirements: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Frequently lift and/or move objects weighing 10-50 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move objects over 100 lbs with assistance or using powered industrial equipment. Frequently required to push carts weighing up to 250 pounds on flat surfaces or ramps. Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Ability to use various hand and power tools and work with a variety of chemicals and solvents. Position may require climbing ladders for top-level access.
