Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Assistant Manager to join our team at The GIANT Company. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and profitable operations of the meat department, driving sales maximization, and fostering team member growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process deliveries, breakdown loads, and maintain a clean and organized cooler.
  • Weigh, price, and label products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stock cases and prepare valued-added products to meet customer demands.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, offering product knowledge and suggestive selling to drive sales.
  • Manage inventory, control costs, and meet sales, gross profit, shrink, and labor targets.
  • Reconcile invoices, execute weekly merchandising plans, and maintain high standards of sanitation and food safety.
  • Train and develop team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Assist the meat manager in their absence, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read, communicate, and understand company policies and safety regulations.
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements for this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.
