Job Description

The Assistant Building Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our residential communities. This individual will be responsible for leading by example, showing care and concern for our residents, and resolving maintenance issues in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and adhere to Bozzuto's core values and culture.
  • Resident Care: Show empathy and understanding towards our residents, providing timely follow-ups and meticulous completion of service tickets.
  • Maintenance Expertise: Effectively resolve maintenance issues related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
  • Make-Ready Process: Manage the make-ready and apartment turnover process with attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Preserve the value of the building by consistently executing on preventative maintenance programs.
  • General Upkeep: Maintain the beauty and safety of the building through general upkeep, snow removal, and grounds maintenance.
  • Efficiency Operation: Sustain peak efficiency operation levels for all property components.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to applicable building, county, and safety codes/standards, ensuring an accident-free operation.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in the emergency on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years in the trades, facilities, and/or residential building maintenance.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership aptitude and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications: HVAC, EPA, and/or NAPE certification.
  • Knowledge: Risk management, OSHA, and MSDS knowledge required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical trades, and appliance repair; basic carpentry, drywall, and painting skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Availability: Availability for emergency situations at the property, including on-call rotation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly, climb stairs, use ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
