Role Overview:
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutrition care in alignment with established protocols and guidelines. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of patient nutrition status and needs.
- Implementing nutrition care plans based on individual evaluations.
- Delivering educational sessions for patients and staff regarding evidence-based nutrition practices.
- Performing nutrition-focused physical examinations and diagnosing malnutrition.
- Ordering nutrition-related interventions within the scope of practice.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Mentoring junior staff and participating in training initiatives.
- Engaging in quality improvement projects to enhance departmental performance.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or a related discipline.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current registration or licensure as a Dietitian in the state of practice.
Preferred Experience:
While prior experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
