UNC Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team in the Med/Surg department. As a Nursing Assistant I, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including vital sign measurements, specimen collection, and personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Document patient information and report significant changes in patient condition to registered nurses or physicians.
- Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
- Participate in the orientation of new employees and students, and provide indirect care to patients and assigned areas.
- High School diploma or GED
- Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Six (6) months of relevant nursing assistant experience
