Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Certified Teacher to join our team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote academic development and enrichment for youth ages 6 to 18.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized tutoring and homework assistance to Club members, as well as support volunteers in their efforts to provide similar services.
  • Design and facilitate activities that enhance members' interest and engagement with homework assignments.
  • Offer targeted tutoring to high-risk students who require additional support in language, reading, math, and science.
  • Assist students with special homework assignments and projects, and stay up-to-date with current textbooks and learning materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with a valid State of Florida teaching certificate or National Teaching Accreditation.
  • Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and practices.
  • Ability to motivate and manage behavior issues among youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment

This position typically works 2.5 to 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday, between 2PM and 7PM. However, longer hours may be required outside of this schedule when necessary. Work is conducted indoors.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; bending and squatting as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Excellent hearing and communication skills.
  • High energy level and emotional intelligence.
