The Automotive Technician Trainee will be responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance on Audi vehicles as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform work as outlined on repair order with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair in a timely and efficient manner.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is recommended.
- Notify service advisor if additional work outlined is needed or recommended.
- Notify service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
- Document work performed in a clear and concise manner.
- Road-test vehicles when required to ensure quality and safety.
- Utilize the knowledge of your Mentor, Team Leader or Shop Foreman when necessary to ensure best practices.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes to stay up-to-date on the latest technical bulletins.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins to ensure compliance and quality.
- Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean and in a presentable condition.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- At least 1-2 years of automotive dealership apprentice training.
- ASE Certification and/or trade school certification.
- Audi/Volkswagen (or multi) brand experience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow directions, willingness to learn, and mentor teammates.
- Respect for teammates and positive outlook.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, and a drug test.
