Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Siemens Healthineers. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology.

Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology
  • Locate and image internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs
  • Identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions
  • Provide a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including breast, abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN
  • Ensure patient safety and monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and/or emotional changes
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy
  • Review patient case studies with peers and physicians
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and adjust equipment or request system repair
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures
  • Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
  • Call for service and notify all pertinent team members
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Abide by all HIPAA standards for patient privacy
  • Abide by all OSHA standards for safety regulations
Requirements
  • Ultrasound background with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience required, specifically in the specialties of general, breast, and abdomen
  • Acuson S2000 experience preferred
  • Valid ARDMS license
  • Valid CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner
  • Must be flexible, reliable, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
