Sleep Study Specialist

This role involves working approximately 12 hours weekly within a specialized medical facility focused on sleep health.
The primary responsibility is to conduct physician-recommended diagnostic assessments related to sleep disorders. This includes patient registration and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed promptly.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary. Candidates should be certified technologists in the field of sleep medicine.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is expected.
MANDATORY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should possess qualifications as Polysomnographic Technologists and Scoring Technologists.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Certification from a nationally recognized board is required, with credentials such as Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS).
Responsibilities include performing various sleep studies such as Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests, and PAP therapy, while collecting and compiling data for physician review.
Implement necessary interventions to ensure patient safety and administer therapeutic treatments, including continuous and bi-level positive airway pressures and oxygen therapy.
Prepare and calibrate testing equipment to ensure proper functionality, and report any service needs to the Clinical Engineering department.
Apply electrodes and sensors according to established standards, perform physiological calibrations to guarantee accurate signals, and make adjustments as needed.
Clearly explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to patients in an understandable manner to ensure proper education.
Responsible for patient registration, discharge, and completion of all required documentation.
Adhere to established protocols for baseline value documentation and record routine observations that comply with industry standards and guidelines.
