Job Overview:

This role is designed for entry to intermediate level Airport Firefighter, dedicated to delivering Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) services as mandated by aviation authorities. The position is crucial in providing immediate response and firefighting capabilities during emergencies surrounding the airport. Emergency scenarios encompass: aircraft incidents; medical emergencies involving passengers; vehicular accidents; hazardous material spills; mass casualty situations; search and rescue operations; and other related firefighting needs. Additionally, this role supports airport operations, security, airfield upkeep, snow management, vegetation control, wildlife oversight, and various operational tasks as assigned.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS: All physical examination costs will be covered.

Housing:
- Rent in airport housing is $ - may increase to $233/month - deducted from paycheck.
- Spacious 1,650 sq ft, all-electric, 3-bedroom, 2-bath residence, equipped with essential appliances and annual maintenance costs covered.
- Water/sewer charges may vary based on usage - deducted from paycheck.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct inspections and repairs of airfield lighting, signage, and directional systems; manage weed control and snow removal operations; oversee fueling agent inspections.

- Maintain and clean fire station facilities and surrounding areas.

- Participate in training sessions to obtain and maintain necessary certifications, including FAA 139 compliance, firefighting, EMT, CPR, and CDL training.

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on emergency vehicles and equipment.

- Execute airport security checks, manage access control, and fulfill other security responsibilities as required by aviation regulations.

- Respond to various emergencies, including fire incidents, medical emergencies, mass casualty events, and hazardous material situations, with a commitment to 100% availability for call-back.

- Undertake additional duties as assigned related to the role.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge:
* Techniques and equipment for aircraft crash and rescue firefighting.
* Rescue methodologies and apparatus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience in professional firefighting or rescue operations are preferred.

Pre-Employment Criteria:

This position necessitates the operation of a vehicle as a core function. All employees must possess a valid driver's license and meet all training and record check requirements. Compliance with insurance regulations is mandatory for personal vehicle use on state business.

Required certifications include Firefighter I and II within the first year of employment, along with a valid CDL (Class B) with tanker endorsement and EMT-B certification. Additional training and certifications must be obtained as specified.
