The Chemical Intermediates Division is seeking a proactive and results-driven individual for a pivotal role in the BDO sector at BASF.
This division offers a diverse range of chemical processes and specialized products. Our chemical intermediates and finished goods play a crucial role in supporting our clients' success globally, both within and outside of BASF.
In this position, you will oversee the daily operations of the BDO Distillation facility, providing essential technical support to enhance plant efficiency while executing the necessary production schedule. You will take a leading role in troubleshooting challenges as they arise, acting as a key problem solver. Collaboration with various departments outside of the BDO sector, including Supply Chain, Commercial Teams, other Production Engineers, Logistics, Utilities, and other critical stakeholders, will be essential.
As a Senior Process Engineer, your contributions will include:
- Utilizing your degree in Engineering or Chemistry (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) and your background in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing setting to guide the achievement and development of plant objectives and operational budgets.
- Applying your comprehensive knowledge of chemical or mechanical engineering principles to optimize plant performance and enhance profitability.
- Employing your strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to provide technical assistance and support to the Daily Operational Team for any plant-related issues.
- Leveraging your familiarity with process equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and distillation columns, to provide technical leadership in root cause analysis for production, EHS, and Quality incidents.
- Exhibiting excellent teamwork abilities by engaging in production planning, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks. Your leadership in the BDO distillation unit will be vital for meeting business and unit goals.
- Adapting to shifting priorities within the production environment, you will manage and complete MOCs, AIMs, and be available for after-hours support for any production or EHS events.
