About the Role

The Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America business is currently seeking a Logistics Team Leader to join our team in Cherokee, AL. As a key member of our site, you will work closely with production employees and other departments to drive optimal production results and continuous improvement, while maintaining a safe work environment for all.

Responsibilities
  • Uphold Essity's Beliefs and Behaviors, promoting a safe work culture and identifying and correcting safety hazards and unsafe acts.
  • Responsible for the safety performance of employees, serving as a role model and leading efforts to promote a safe work environment.
  • Oversee the overall performance of assigned shifts, including productivity, quality, efficiency, and cost control, establishing priorities and encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Communicate expectations to employees, evaluate performance, and share knowledge to ensure the transfer of information within the team.
  • Enforce and administer consistent application of all company policies, ensuring the team works to standards and participates in the selection process and development of new employees.
  • Direct, coach, and train employees to improve skills and stimulate individual growth, ensuring they have the necessary education and training to effectively participate on the team.
  • Build relationships with employees, creating an environment that promotes open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive teamwork.
Requirements
  • Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work experience can be substituted for the degree.
  • Five years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or logistics environment preferred.
  • Strong coaching skills, ability to identify problems and implement solutions, and handle conflict and confrontation.
  • Good planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills, mechanical trouble-shooting skills, and knowledge of manufacturing and logistics best practices.
