Medication Aide

We are seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to join our team at Bethesda Gardens Frisco. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our senior residents.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and pass medications to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Order medications from the pharmacy and check MARs for errors.
- Administer treatments, take vital signs, and weigh residents.
- Document changes and unusual occurrences in resident charts.
- Ensure lab work, faxes, physician orders, and medication orders are completed and filed according to community policies and procedures.
- Schedule doctor appointments as needed.
- Admit new residents and assist with activities of daily living.
- Assist with basic cleaning and maintenance issues.
- Escorts residents to and from the dining room and assists with meal service.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certification in medication administration and CPR/First Aid as required per state.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload in stressful situations.
- Knowledge and skills to administer medications safely.
Must be able to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach. Must be able to lift residents in excess of 100 pounds with assistance.
