POSITION OVERVIEW:

Penn State is seeking a Livestock Education Specialist to serve in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Since its inception, Penn State Extension has been dedicated to delivering impartial, research-driven information and education tailored to the needs of local communities and industry stakeholders. Programs are designed based on input from the community and industry, utilizing current data from Penn State and other educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a recognized leader within the Penn State Extension Livestock team.
  • Design, execute, and assess educational initiatives for livestock producers and industry professionals.
  • Offer guidance and technical support to livestock producers in areas such as business operations, marketing strategies, health management, and genetic improvement.
  • Facilitate Extension education programs employing a variety of methodologies.

  • Preferred experience in livestock production, particularly in beef or small ruminants.
