Job Summary

The Senior Project Developer supports all development and construction activities associated with new generation projects. This role oversees project budget updates, contractor and consultant oversight, contract administration, and ensures site compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position maintains key business, public, and stakeholder relationships, including interaction with landowners, county employees, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders. The position also coordinates with other departments to complete development and construction tasks.

Responsibilities

Support activities for self-developed projects, due diligence efforts, and oversight of progress for projects purchased from developers. Development activities include site evaluation, land acquisition, title policy coverage, environmental studies, obtaining interconnection rights, and supporting local, state, and federal permits. The position also oversees site construction activities, including contractor performance relative to schedule, quality, safety, and compliance. Furthermore, the role performs various calculations and analysis supporting the development and construction of new wind generation projects. Additionally, the position supports contract negotiation efforts for asset purchase agreement contracts, balance of plant contracts, and major equipment procurement contracts. The Senior Project Developer also monitors and reports on performance related to safety, compliance, budget, schedule, and quality for all site development and construction activity. Finally, the position participates in meetings with developers, consultants, contractors, inspectors, landowners, and other stakeholders in site development and construction activities.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, math, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Six or more years of operations, construction, development, or renewable industry-related experience, with two years in a senior technical/leadership role preferred. Willingness to travel to various sites, approximately 50% of job duties will be performed at development or construction sites. Knowledge of each party's contractual obligations and rights associated with site development and construction agreements. Experience being involved and knowledgeable from the development phase through completion of construction. The ability to maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities, enhance job knowledge and abilities by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective organization, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Planning and budgeting skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues, tasks, and projects concurrently.
