About the Role

GKN Automotive is seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Systems: Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and hardwire prints, and troubleshoot electrical systems using test equipment such as multiple meters and amp probes.
  • Mechanical Systems: Repair or replace belt drives, gear boxes, gibs, hydraulic units, pumps, cylinders, pneumatic systems, chain drives, bearings, and bushings, and perform basic welding techniques.
  • Control Systems: Troubleshoot PLC's and CNC's, and diagnose equipment using PC programs for efficient repair.
  • Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement predictive maintenance tasks in assigned areas, and identify repetitive failures and implement corrective action.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Formal Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent, and at least 3 – 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Desirable Qualifications: CPR/First responder training, Powered industrial Equipment certification, Mechanical/Electrical certification, and Welding certification.
