Position Overview:
As a Floor Technician, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the cleanliness and maintenance of the Emory Primate Center (EPC), a leading public health institution in the United States. You will engage in various manual labor tasks associated with the daily upkeep of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Removing wax build-up from baseboards, corners, and edges of floors.
- Stripping, scrubbing, and refinishing appropriate floor surfaces.
- Scrubbing ceramic floor tile areas.
- Washing walls with detergent germicide or neutral cleaner.
- Spot cleaning carpets and upholstery.
- Extracting dirt from carpets and upholstery.
- Dust mopping, damp mopping, and burnishing floors while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Maintaining a safe work environment for both customers and employees.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Reporting any equipment needing repair or replacement to the supervisor.
- Following all work procedures and standards in compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge or experience in floor care or a related field is preferred.
- Availability for shift work is necessary.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while performing repetitive tasks.
- Capability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors and colleagues.
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds or more.
