Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a full range of tax services, including federal and state income tax preparation for individuals and small business clients.
  • Ensure all required documentation for tax returns is received, stored, and maintained, following all procedures.
  • Provide tax planning consultation to clients, building relationships and interacting with them to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expert tax services.
  • Supervise, review, and evaluate the work of tax staff, coordinating and monitoring training with the owner.
  • Manage tax compliance processes, including all required documents for tax returns, and improve processes by developing, implementing, or improving best practice procedures.
  • Update and design tax worksheets and procedures for more accurate and efficient tax work, helping maintain and create procedures and update the tax manual.
  • Respond to tax notices and correspondence received by tax agencies, preparing internal memoranda, written correspondence, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other government agencies.
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits, tax changes, budgets, and production goals for multiple clients, recruiting, interviewing, and training new staff members involved with the tax business.
  • Work with the CEO to design marketing and growth ideas, building business and creating a brand.
Requirements:
  • CPA or EA certification
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in tax preparation and filings of personal and small business tax returns
  • Supervisory experience
  • Belief in 'small business' ideals with an entrepreneurial approach
