Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Water Department Supervisor to join our team in a dynamic and challenging environment. As a key member of our Facility-Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for managing the company's water infrastructure, waste distribution system, and equipment to ensure they are operating in an optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the treatment and operation of water collection, storage, treatment, and distribution systems, including wells, tanks, valves, pumps, controls, and chemical injection systems.
  • Review Task Hazard Assessments (THAs) prior to assigned duties and follow Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials.
  • Ensure compliance with state permits and regulations, and maintain accurate records of water and waste system operations.
  • Compile and submit reports to ensure compliance with drinking water and wastewater standards.
  • Collaborate with other trades and laborers to ensure efficient completion of projects and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide adequate services to ensure that all water and waste systems are installed, repaired, and maintained to meet all standards of building codes safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials used on jobs and ensure job orders are complete.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of water infrastructure and waste distribution systems.
  • Work under general supervision and from oral instructions, preventive maintenance program plans, work orders, emergency calls, layout sketches, blueprints, drawings, specifications, or similar guidance.
  • Ensure work is performed based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
  • Train and develop subordinate staff, estimate personnel needs, assign work, and meet completion dates.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a US Citizen or naturalized citizen able to obtain/maintain HWAD site access.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver's license.
  • Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
  • Must have Treatment 4 certification, Distribution 2 certification, Wastewater 1, and Backflow Tester Certification.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours, and/or rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing/able to be trained to operate a forklift/fork truck or material handling lifting devices.
  • Must be willing/able to be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a procedurally compliant environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an environmental and safety compliant environment.
  • Must be willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Four-year trade school or demonstrated equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Extensive knowledge in the area of specialization and previous supervisor experience within the water management field is desired.
  • Good oral and written communications skills. Working knowledge of using computer software, applications, and other office equipment is desired. Organizational skills and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications through Amentum's Master Training Plan.

Additional Responsibilities:
