Position Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist I, Logistics embodies the core mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This role adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to established procedures regarding inventory management, receiving, equipment handling, linen distribution, and mail processing.
  • Communicate any concerns or unique situations to management.
  • Employ standard practices within CIMS and Peoplesoft to uphold data integrity.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address straightforward issues involving technology, customers, staff, and other supply chain personnel; seek managerial guidance when necessary.
  • Conduct daily activities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Support the level one manager with special projects as needed.
  • Facilitate MDI and daily huddles effectively.
  • Maintain local data accuracy in Peoplesoft and CIMS.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond promptly under pressure when challenges arise.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 80 hours per pay period on the evening shift, specifically from Sunday to Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with occasional shifts from 3:30 p.m. to midnight based on staffing needs. Holiday shifts will be rotated. During the training phase, the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Future Schedule Changes: In the coming months, the schedule may transition to include every other weekend.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Ability to follow instructions and directives.
  • Proficient in computer usage; capable of learning various software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
