Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Hudson Headwaters Health Network. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Imaging Services
- Select and apply appropriate technical factors and patient positioning to produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Provide clear and concise education to patients regarding exam procedures and preparation requirements.
- Maintain proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) to schedule exams, process orders, and distribute imaging results to healthcare providers.
- Image Processing and Distribution
- Process images to Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and review ultrasound findings with radiologists and OB/GYN providers.
- Maintain proficiency in Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and PACS to deliver images to radiologists and permanent archives.
- Quality and Safety
- Maintain a log of all patients imaged.
- Ensure a clean and orderly exam room environment.
- Prepare patient CDs and/or push images to other PACS systems.
- Team Collaboration
- Assist in the orientation, instruction, and training of new employees according to department procedures.
- Maintain a steady and efficient patient workflow, regardless of demand, and notify providers and nursing when the workflow is backed up.
- College or university program certificate or two to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.
- Current ARDMS/RDMS certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN.
- A minimum of one year of imaging experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Current on required continuing education credits.
- Current BLS certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and electronic medical records.
- Knowledge of current ultrasound practices and standards of care.
- Knowledge of related regulatory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with patients, healthcare personnel, and outside entities.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The pay rate for this position is $41.28/hour.
