The Position
We invite applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Political Science beginning in August 2025 and ending in May 2026. This is a full-time position with a teaching load of eight courses or course-equivalents during the academic year.
We seek candidates who have broad training in American Politics. The successful candidate will also contribute courses to the General Education curriculum. We also seek candidates who are passionate about teaching and will embrace our commitment to academic innovation and transformative learning experiences.
About You
As a Visiting Assistant Professor, you will be eligible to receive departmental funds and to apply for most of our internal grants in support of your teaching and research. You will work closely with our Public Affairs Department, which administers majors in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, and Criminal Justice.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of approximately $80,000 per year, as well as benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in our community engagement initiatives and to mentor under-represented students.
