A skilled Nursing Facility in Long Beach, NY has an immediate need for a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department, and patient(s) schedule, and timely documentation of services.
- Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
- Act as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
- Instruct patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
- Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
- Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
- Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
- Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to: airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
- Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Current NY State Physical Therapist Assistant License.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a short-term and/or Long-term rehab.
- Must have 1 year experience in SNF.
- Solid knowledge of healthcare industry and related guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
- Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment, and impact on regulation for the healthcare industry.
- Excellent organization, analytical, and time management skills.
- Experience in strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
