A skilled Nursing Facility in Long Beach, NY is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join their team.
Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and support. Your primary responsibilities will include attending patient care conferences, contributing to the development of patient care plans, and implementing rehabilitation programs. You will also be responsible for instructing patients and families on physical therapy techniques and maintaining accurate documentation of patient progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and contribute to patient care conferences and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.
- Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
- Act as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
- Instruct patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
- Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
Requirements:
- Current NY State Physical Therapist Assistant License.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a short-term and/or Long-term rehab.
- Must have 1 year experience in SNF.
- Solid knowledge of healthcare industry and related guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
- Excellent organization, analytical, and time management skills.
- Experience in strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
