Position Overview:

The Assistant Production Manager plays a crucial role in directing and coordinating production activities in the absence of the Production Manager. This role involves:

  • Providing on-the-job guidance and training to Foremen
  • Enforcing safety protocols among production staff
  • Collaborating with Human Resources for personnel management
  • Coordinating production efforts with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize resource utilization

The Assistant Production Manager will also review production reports to identify issues affecting product specifications and operational efficiency, develop strategies to enhance production methods, and adjust schedules as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role includes managing subordinate supervisors who oversee plant employees in the absence of the Production Manager. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Conducting interviews, hiring, and training
  • Planning and directing work assignments
  • Evaluating performance and addressing employee concerns
