We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital – Fort Smith. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to serve our community.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. The therapist assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement occupational therapy modalities and treatments, including exercises, activities, and interventions, to promote patient recovery and independence.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, but not required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
