SUMMARY

Ensure the cleanliness and organization of facility floors and common areas. Responsible for performing housekeeping tasks in various locations including restrooms, elevators, hallways, and lounges.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
  • Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop floors; scrub, strip, buff, wax, polish, and maintain all types of floor surfaces using appropriate equipment.
  • Clean and maintain equipment after use, ensuring it is in proper working order and stored correctly upon completion of tasks.
  • Report any equipment or furniture requiring repair to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in utility and custodial rooms.
  • Perform cleaning duties in rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
  • Ensure all carpeted areas are well-maintained through cleaning and vacuuming.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork; clean windows, frames, door panels, sills, and ledges both inside and outside.
  • Assist in moving furniture, equipment, fixtures, and supplies as directed; set up tables and chairs in designated areas as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Manage department linens, tablecloths, and skirts, including laundry duties.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while executing assigned tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

(EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

High school diploma or equivalent; one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; effective communication skills before groups of customers or employees.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
