Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead solving complex problems for our Global Services Strategy and Operations team at Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This role will lead the charge in translating GSSO mission into organizational north-star goals, shaping product and engineering mental models around causal success measurement, and having a long-lasting influence on how we delight our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Data Management and Strategy: Establish and execute data management and strategy frameworks, including data collection, storage, integration, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-related challenges and opportunities, develop data-driven solutions, and align data strategy with the organization's overall objectives.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand organization's data needs and requirements, including evaluating existing data infrastructure and systems, identifying gaps and areas for improvement, and proposing innovative solutions.
- Large-Scale Data Processing: Leverage large-scale data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark or Hadoop, to handle big data and ensure efficient model training and evaluation.
- Machine Learning Model Development: Continuously evaluate and improve machine learning models by incorporating feedback from stakeholders, monitoring their performance in real-world scenarios, and exploring new algorithms and techniques to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Business Value-Driven Insights: Develop and implement machine learning models that drive business value by analyzing historical data, identifying patterns, and forecasting future outcomes, as well as analyzing customer data, market trends, financial data, and operational data to inform strategic plans and optimize business processes.
