Position Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and production of our aerospace products. Collaborating closely with the General Manager, you will be responsible for developing industry-standard products that align with company specifications. Success in this role requires strong analytical and design skills, proficiency in design software, and the ability to troubleshoot effectively. You will also oversee the implementation of a Master Production Schedule (MPS) for a multi-process manufacturing environment, coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless integration of processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review documentation, routers, and specifications for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Analyze and refine manufacturing processes and work instructions for complex components.
- Evaluate engineering documentation for accuracy and compliance with production standards.
- Inspect production equipment and assembly lines to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of cable assembly production.
- Utilize MRP/ERP systems for managing bills of materials and routing instructions.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and inform product development.
- Provide support and solutions to production and manufacturing teams as needed.
- Collaborate with management and team leads to foster effective communication.
- Uphold company policies and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and quality assurance programs.
- Manage multiple projects effectively, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and design capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Industrial Process Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience in electronic assembly is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-620, IPC-610, J-STD-001D, and ISO9001.
- Knowledge of AS9000/ISO systems and government contracts is a plus.
- Ability to visualize and conceptualize design ideas effectively.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate complex topics clearly.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) techniques.
Physical Requirements
The role requires good mobility, the ability to navigate between facilities, and the capacity to lift up to 30 lbs.
