We are seeking a skilled and experienced plumber to join our team at SMSI, a leading provider of mechanical services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including assembling and installing plumbing systems, troubleshooting and repairing pipe and pipeline systems, and reviewing blueprints and building codes to determine optimal work procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Plumbing System Installation and Repair: Assemble and install plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances, to ensure safe and efficient water supply and drainage.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair pipe and pipeline systems, including identifying and isolating problems, and using hand, power, and plumbing tools to make necessary repairs.
- Blueprint Review and Code Compliance: Review blueprints and building codes to determine optimal work procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Septic and Commercial Sewer Maintenance: Maintain and repair septic and commercial sewer systems, including inspecting and cleaning systems, and making necessary repairs.
- Estimating and Costing: Prepare written work cost estimates for clients, including calculating labor and material costs, and providing detailed breakdowns of expenses.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment, and following established protocols for handling hazardous materials.
- Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience in plumbing, maintenance, or a related field, including a strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints and schematics, and proficiency in using hand, power, and plumbing tools.
- Physical Demands: Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Critical Thinking and Communication: Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
