Role Overview:

The Infection Control Specialist is integral to the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP). This role encompasses responsibilities as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for staff across multiple locations, focusing on:

  • Infection Prevention & Control Activities
  • Outcome & Process Surveillance
  • Outbreak Management
  • Employee Health

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate new hire orientation by delivering training on infection prevention and control.
  • Design and implement educational programs addressing identified infection control needs.
  • Develop, execute, monitor, and sustain the IPCP to enhance patient care quality concerning infection and communicable disease management.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure.
  • Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate employees on various shifts.
