Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer Diver to join our team at Marine Solutions in Newark, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge, significant experience, and advanced technical capabilities in engineering and diving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspection and evaluation of structures under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Conduct testing of materials and incorporate results into reports under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering documents, including inspection reports, design plans, and specifications under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
  • Actively participate in internal project meetings and work to resolve project issues.
  • Promote a safe work culture.
Requirements
  • Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in engineering and diving.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and office software and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil, structural, or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • 0-4 years of engineering experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • ADCI Commercial Diver or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Valid US Driver's License.

  • FHWA-NHI #Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.
  • FHWA-NHI #Bridge Inspection Refresher.
  • FHWA-NHI #Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM) Refresher.
  • FHWA-NHI #Ancillary Highway Structures.
  • FHWA-NHI #Underwater Bridge Inspection.
  • SPRAT Rope Access Technician.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course.
  • NASBLA Boater Safety Course.
  • First Aid, CPR & O2 Provider.
  • TWIC Card.
  • Valid US Passport.
  • Commercial DOT Medical card.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Safety

The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. Compensation

Pay range is $79,040.00 - $95,680.00 annually for positions filled in New Jersey.
