Job Title: Youth Development Specialist

Join the Hispanic Health Council team as a Youth Development Specialist, playing a vital role in the Family Wellness Center & Youth Program. As part of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality programming and ensuring the safety and well-being of all extended learning program participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organize daily activities and attendance, implementing enrichment activities that promote learning and development.
  • Assist with transitions and ensure program efficacy, working closely with program staff to achieve program goals.
  • Communicate effectively with program parents and guardians, building trusting relationships between program staff and community families.
  • Maintain school classrooms and spaces utilized by the extended learning program, ensuring a safe and educational environment.
  • Develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
  • Complete required staff training, staying up-to-date on best practices and ensuring a safe and educational environment.
  • Support the establishment and enforcement of program policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of quality and excellence.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience working with children and/or a related field
  • Knowledge of program coordination for school-aged children
  • Knowledge of technical platforms (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to plan and implement engaging lesson plans and activities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual - Spanish
