Job Title: Physician Assistant or APRN

Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant or APRN is a vital member of the Midtown Health Center Inc. team, responsible for delivering high-quality primary care services to patients while working under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct Patient Care: Provides comprehensive patient care services, including examining, diagnosing, and prescribing treatment plans, while adhering to established standards of care.
  2. Referrals and Coordination: Refers patients to specialty care services, labs, and other ancillary services as needed, and reviews lab and x-ray reports to make informed medical decisions.
  3. Health Record Maintenance: Maintains accurate and up-to-date health records for patients, utilizing electronic health records to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  4. Patient Education: Educates patients and families about diagnoses and care plans, promoting patient engagement and empowerment.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  6. Quality Improvement: Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of excellence within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a Master's degree from a Physician Assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in primary care services preferred.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Nebraska required or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Current DEA license required or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Must meet all credentialing requirements as required by Medicaid, Medicare, and insurances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written skills highly desired.
  • Knowledge of advanced principles of health promotion, prevention, and motivation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of program requirements to maintain FQHC and PCMH status.
