Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support the Special Operations Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at a secure facility and requires a DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher.

Responsibilities
  • Provide planning and engineering guidance to planners to ensure seamless execution of IT projects.
  • Assist with system and network planning for contingencies, exercises, and operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Design and develop tools and playbooks to automate configuration processes, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
  • Provide detailed planning of network changes to support emerging requirements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Review, edit, publish, and maintain documentation and diagrams of engineering and design activities in industry-standard formats.
  • Identify and recommend tools and processes to accomplish enterprise NetOps tasks, enhancing overall performance and security.
  • Provide design and architectural recommendations for long-term/chronic problem resolution, ensuring optimal solutions.
  • Assist with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain currency in applicable industry standards from bodies such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12+ years of high school education, 8 years of bachelor's degree, 6 years of master's degree, or 3 years of PhD in a related field.
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher clearance is required.
  • At least 8 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise-level IT program.
  • Ability to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective.
  • Expertise in a systems or application programming language or scripting (e.g., Java, C++, PowerShell, VB, VBS).
  • Expertise with server virtualization on an enterprise scale (e.g., HyperV, VMWare, etc.).
  • Expertise with server maintenance and optimization, as well as backup and recovery.
  • Expertise with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MECM.
  • Expertise with enterprise-level storage platforms and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of data structures and relational database systems relevant to the candidate's work area (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostGres).
  • Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP).
  • Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.

DoD 8570.01-M IAT II requiredAND one of the following certifications are preferred:

  • MCSE
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administration Expert
  • Microsoft Certified Expert related to the candidate's work area

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
