Position Overview:
As a Clinical Laboratory Technician I, you will play a vital role in our laboratory operations, performing essential testing and analysis under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine laboratory tests in accordance with established protocols and under the supervision of senior personnel.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) while performing and reporting on assigned analytical tests, maintaining quality control standards.
- Engage in moderate complexity testing following specific training and oversight.
- Uphold laboratory policies regarding specimen handling, test analysis, and record-keeping of patient results.
- Adhere to analytical schedules to ensure timely reporting of results, including critical findings.
- Verify that reagents and test kits are properly dated and managed.
- Execute and document quality control analyses to confirm the accuracy of clinical data and instrument functionality.
- Communicate any issues regarding test procedures to supervisory staff promptly.
- Report deviations from standard testing procedures and participate in investigations as necessary.
- Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized reporting to physicians.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional laboratory environment.
- Complete necessary training and competency assessments.
- Follow all regulatory and safety requirements, including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines.
- Utilize personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols as directed.
- Address inquiries from clients and laboratory personnel when applicable.
- Participate in inspections by regulatory agencies as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Must have previously qualified as a Technologist under relevant regulations.

Preferred Experience:
- One to three years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects ranging from 1 to 10 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Capability to stand and work at a laboratory bench for extended periods.
- Frequent walking and standing are required.
- Proficiency in using various manual and automated laboratory instruments requiring dexterity.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Fundamental understanding of clinical testing principles and laboratory operations.
- Familiarity with departmental policies and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues and clients.
- Effective communication skills for handling inquiries.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Systems.

Education:
- An Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Certifications:
- ASCP Certification is required.
