Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Financial Services Associate to join our team at Princeton University. As a key member of our Financial Service Center, you will provide exceptional support to the University community on a range of finance and treasury-related processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Customer Service Support
    • Utilize the Princeton Service Portal to provide direct support in-person, by phone, or by email to members of the University community on finance and treasury-related processes.
    • Provide a wide range of financial services to the University community, including buying and paying, payroll, travel, and student accounts.
    • Represent the Office of Finance and Treasury at informational events, including Freshman sign-in and the Graduate Student Fair.
    • Serve as a Notary Public for members of the University community.
    • Manage customer support for the departmental credit card and travel card programs.
  • Systems Security and Access
    • Manage security and systems access to all University financial systems supported by the Office of Finance and Treasury.
  • Cashiering Support
    • Provide cashiering services to the University community, including managing disbursement of currency and accounting validation for departmental replenishment of petty cash funds.
  • Process Improvement and Training
    • Develop and implement tracking mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery.
    • Partner with the Finance and Treasury training coordinator to develop and deliver training programs on finance and treasury-related topics.
Qualifications
  • Relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in a related area.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong customer-service focus and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills, working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting, accounting procedures, and budget reconciliations, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Experience in a high-level service delivery position, including phone and/or email support.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately analyze, troubleshoot, and support inquiries about financial transactions across various financial systems.
  • Experience in communicating policy or procedure effectively to a broad customer base.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion, especially when provisioning system access, working with personally identifiable information, and cash handling and financial information.
