Position Overview

The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing and assisting in ultrasound examinations. This position requires technical expertise to support the Radiologist and ensure the proper maintenance of ultrasound equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare and assess patients for ultrasound examinations, confirming their identity and reviewing health status and medical history in line with established protocols.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and fine-tune ultrasound machinery, ensuring cleanliness and making minor adjustments while adhering to safety standards to protect both patients and staff.
  • Patient Communication: Engage with patients and healthcare professionals, providing clear explanations of procedures and addressing general inquiries.
  • Procedure Planning: Develop tailored examination plans based on patient health information, utilizing professional judgment to enhance imaging outcomes.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Analyze sonographic results to ensure comprehensive examinations that aid in accurate diagnosis, while minimizing patient exposure to acoustic energy.
  • Documentation: Record diagnostic images and relevant data for physician review and maintain an organized archive of findings.
  • Work Environment: Ensure a safe and sanitary workspace, assisting in the orientation and training of new ultrasound staff.
  • Additional Duties: Perform various administrative tasks as required, including scheduling and managing supplies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of administrative practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
