Job Summary

The City of Clayton is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Municipal Service Worker I to join our Parks Maintenance Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing manual maintenance work, including grounds maintenance, facility upkeep, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents and patrons
  • Maintain and clean park grounds, structures, and facilities
  • Assist with landscape maintenance, including tree pruning and removal, planting, and mulching
  • Operate hand and riding mowers, power trimmers, and other equipment
  • Assist with the maintenance and operation of the tennis center, aquatic center, and park facilities
  • Prepare and maintain athletic fields and volleyball courts
  • Assist with emergency snow removal and city-wide storm clean-up
  • Operate small trucks, tractors, and auxiliary maintenance equipment
  • Assist with event setup, operation, and tear-down
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One year of previous work experience in general park maintenance, landscaping, or facility maintenance
  • Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License within six months of employment
  • Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider and First Aid required within three months of employment
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to respond to weather events at any time of day
