About the Job

This full-time position requires working EOW/EOH shifts, from 8:30am - 5:00pm or 10:30am - 7:00pm. Key responsibilities include:

  • Encouraging residents to participate in daily meetings, activities, and appointments.
  • Facilitating morning meetings and distributing calendars of events.
  • Leading cognitive exercises like Memory Magic, Time Slips, and Art Therapy.
  • Maintaining documentation of resident participation in programs.
  • Transporting and accompanying residents on scheduled outings.
  • Supporting the Activities Coordinator with assigned projects and programs.

Critical success factors for this role include being patient, encouraging, personable, and creative, with a strong understanding of working with residents living with dementia. Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate work with other departments are also essential.
