Position Overview
This role is centered on overseeing timelines and orchestrating the effective scheduling of component parts and machinery upkeep to meet customer requirements. It involves analyzing and modifying production strategies while providing suitable delivery timelines as necessary. The individual in this position will lead a team of Production Schedulers and Planners. Leadership experience in mentoring a team and organizing daily tasks is vital for the success of this role. Collaboration with other departments is essential to ensure customer satisfaction. The role includes evaluating reports on actual customer demand, trends, and forecasts, and adjusting capacity plans accordingly.

Operations
  • Convert projected forecasts, incoming volumes, and work scopes into a detailed production plan with a time-phased build schedule.
  • Collaborate with the customer base to ascertain weekly inbound forecasts and develop consumption models to enhance accuracy.
  • Establish key performance indicators for forecast accuracy, ensuring effective interaction among department managers and maintaining the forecast through timely feedback.
  • Schedule demand based on product mix and provide precise commitment dates to the customer service team across product lines.
  • Compile master schedule reports concerning performance against the business plan, shipment plan, inventory plan, and production plan.
  • Provide insights to finance regarding operating plans for the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, focusing on incoming volume and capacity.
  • Identify current planned demand levels and create tactical production plans to meet identified customer needs, calculating production lead times.
  • Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling, utilizing the theory of constraints (TOC) for more precise scheduling.
  • Analyze production floor status through input/output control reporting.
  • Coordinate information with other functional staff, including customer service, engineering, accounting, and human resources.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to assess labor and productivity performance statistics.
  • Understand the relationship between capacity management and MRP, specifically JDE.
  • Establish, measure, monitor, and adjust capacity levels to execute all manufacturing schedules.
  • Determine available capacity prior to the release of planned orders.
  • Engage in capacity management during sales and operations planning, master scheduling, materials requirements planning, and production activity control.
  • Resolve discrepancies between workstation loads and available capacity, measuring the utilization and efficiency of workstations.
Communication
  • Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders, both internal and external where appropriate.
  • Clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to team members.
Financial
  • All employees are accountable for financial responsibility, whether managing a function budget or their own expenses.
  • Ensure costs incurred are within the approved budget and processed within agreed time frames, adhering to relevant financial policies and procedures.
People & Development

  • Regular engagement with line managers to discuss personal performance, objectives, and opportunities for skill enhancement is encouraged.

Experience & Education
Required:
  • Degree/diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related fields, or relevant industry experience.
  • 3-7 years of scheduling experience with a proven track record of implementing master schedules.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in operations or inventory management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of artificial lift equipment and experience in the petroleum, oil, and gas industry is advantageous.

  • Able to manage multiple projects with limited direction, showing growth potential beyond the role.
Travel Requirement: This role may necessitate domestic and potentially international travel.
